Spiritualist’s Answer to: “What is Faith?”
I was on my social media platform on TikTok @AnneCTotero and I came across a follower in my account asking, “What is Faith?”
I am not coming here as someone that can define this for you. I can define it from my experiences.
Faith is something you feel. Something you know, similar to an intuitive state. It is solid on the hardest of days yet that doesn’t mean it doesn’t develop, move, shift. It also does not mean it is not challenged. It will be; often.
Yet you come back to it and know.
Faith, for me, is also about trust. In order to have confidence or know something, there is a deeply bound trust. Bond to that trust. Yet because I am human and relationships are complicated now more than ever, it waivers and can be challenged. Faith in myself, God, the higher grid, universe or others things or persons.
When I do my podcast or my spiritual work, I will say: Believe in something bigger than yourself. I don’t care if it’s baseball, science, God, gods,or Gaia. Love, tomorrow, hope, community.
Belief and faith have been adopted by religious and spiritual entities. And due to the religious trauma that has been brought forth by many centuries, people have had their walls up to these words. Asking a traumatized ancestral line to trust is not an easy bond to heal. So, I request humbly:
Be patient. With yourself and others. Healing and faith come with time. Any relationship takes time and should not be done blindly.
As a spiritual and religious person, faith brings me peace. Yet for others it is novel, a knife in the side, or nonexistent. It is the ultimate vulnerability to believe in something greater than myself.
I look to redefine faith as a trusting belief in some thing bigger than yourself.
What do you believe in that’s bigger than yourself? How do you define “Faith"?”
